Real-life caseJanuary 2025
Property management agency, Rennes
A property manager left a real estate agency. He had no non-compete clause, and set up his own property management company.
In his offices, a court bailiff found a list of the buildings he used to manage, with notes specific to the agency: mandate end dates, accountants' initials. His company approached the clients in line with these dates, rating each one "sure", "likely" or "maybe".
The competitor won 8 of the agency's 44 buildings. On 14 January 2025, the Rennes Court of Appeal found unfair competition and ordered his company to pay four thousand euros in damages. The evidence came from the bailiff's report.
